The Memphis City Council adopted an ordinance establishing regulations for the operation of properties used as short term rentals in March 2023 (Ordinance 5856). The new regulations became effective on July 1, 2023 and requires obtaining and maintaining a short-term rental license to operate and advertise. Registering your property is important for guest and neighborhood safety.
